The Challenge
How might we design a tailored solution for graduate students to track stress and manage goals?
Overview
In recent years, there have been escalating levels of stress among graduate students. Stress can manifest in both physical and emotional symptoms and varies based on the individual. Left unaddressed, it can result in worsening mental health, and is crucial to address for students’ immediate well-being as well as long-term quality of life and success.
During this project, I led the user research and design of a mobile product for graduate students to track stress levels and manage goals. With this product, we developed a tailored solution to increase students’ self-awareness, reflection and action, thereby promoting long-term behavioral change to help them manage goals and reduce overall levels of stress.

Introducing On Track…
An onboarding flow
When users first log into the app, they can select their top 3 stressors to allow the app to tailor recommendations for them.
Understanding stressors
Users can record the intensity of their top 3 stressors and view their stress trends and insights. They can also view AI-generated suggestions to manage their stressors.
Goals and reflections
Users can set goals or choose from AI-generated goals. They can take part in guided reflection to understand and improve their goal performance in future.
